C'mon, seedlings, lets see a little progress!
The lilac buds already shine chartreuse
my daffodils stand tall and bulging
and cream and purple crocus dot the garden.
I know you're snug in the potting soil;
it's been ten days already
of trying so hard to offer the
best of conditions: heat, moisture and love.
But I'm searching and I don't see you!
I'll get my magnifying glass
to peer among the little clods of
whatever is in potting soil
Ah ha! Bibb lettuce, one broccoli,
three sweet peas! You're alive!
Stretching, rising, pushing, longing
just like I am: for Life!
